With this active escape, your family will never want to say arrivederci to Apulia.
It’s every parent’s nightmare holiday. You reach your hotel and then within a couple of days of your two-week stay, you’ve exhausted all the activities, seen all the local sights, and now your kids are climbing the walls. What once seemed like an idyllic summer escape suddenly has you wishing you were back at the office.
Fortunately, this is what sets a trip to Robinson Club Apulia apart. With a staggering array of sports facilities and ways to fill your time, you and your bambinis – whether they’re youngsters or teenagers – should have a trip to remember.
Let’s Talk Location
Apulia is located on the heel of Italy’s geographical boot, right alongside the Ionian Sea. The Club’s natural surroundings include a pine forest and sandy beach, and as you may have guessed, temperatures are toasty with peak-highs throughout the summer months.
Thanks to the sun-drenched location, the Club’s park is always in bloom.
With the Club situated within walking distance of the beautiful Italian coastline, boat excursions (which you may need to arrange separately), run regularly to neighbouring islands. Destinations include the baroque town of Lecce, or the fishing towns of Gallipolo and Santa Maria di Leuca. Or, if you’re the type of family who prefer a slice of culture, there are bike tours of the local area available and the Torre San Giovanni town centre lies just a ten-minute drive away from the resort.
What about accommodation? In all likelihood, your room will be nothing more than a docking station for you all to get some shut-eye before heading out bright and early for another jam-packed day of activities. That being said, the resort offers a total of 381 comfortable rooms, including double and family, and all come equipped with a shower, WC, satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, refrigerator, safe, hairdryer and adjustable air-conditioning, as well as a balcony/terrace.
Spoilt For Choice
We all know the entertainment and activities is what really makes or breaks a family vacation and Robinson Club Apulia is designed to be a comprehensive on and off-land adventure.
Alongside specialised programmes for kids aged two to 17, babysitting is available for your littlest ones with ROBY BABY. Two-year olds have their own play room and area, whilst three to 7-year olds and eight to 12-year olds can be entertained all day at their respective clubs. Usefully, for older kids up to 17, there are sporting excursions, discos and other activities organised with guests of their own age.
Water sports galore both inside and outside the resort.
The veritable pick ‘n’ mix of facilities includes five swimming pools (including one for relaxation), nine silica sand tennis courts where dads can channel their inner Andy Murray and commiserate themselves after losing at the attached bar, as well as the on-site WellFit® Spa.
This is ideal for spending some quality-time with your partner while the kids are busy, with a range of beauty treatments, massage therapies and a Finnish sauna. Or, if you’re more of an active couple, the spa offers group fitness classes such as Hot Iron (involving a barbell), Body Styling, Step, Aqua Fit, Yoga, Pilates and Indoor Cycling.
If you still somehow have time to kill (only possible if you’ve become a permanent resident), there is also a go-karting track around 3km away from the Club, a host of water activities including sailing and surfing, and archery facilities up a 100ft range. Talking of adding strings to a bow, the resort will also have a new Aqua Park opening this summer.
A Slice of Life
Capturing the essence of Italy, the Club is home to four restaurants and five bars. For the full Italian experience, you can head the specialty Trattoria or the reservation-only Pizzeria, while the main eating area offers stunning terrace views. Those looking to stay healthy as opposed to over-indulging and struggling to get in their plane-seat on the way home can also opt for a unique WellFood® menu, featuring dishes inspired by the latest diet trends.
Whether your family are sports enthusiasts, wellness lovers or cultural explorers, there’s no denying Robinson Club Apulia is a true summer escape.
