The PEPP luxx – Dutch brand Nuna’s newest pushchair – isn’t quite a chip off the old block, instead, it’s taking compact to whole new level.
First Impressions
The PEPP luxx has a smart and lightweight design, without being spectacular. Although there isn’t huge variety in colour choices – the Scarlett and Emerald options both offer that bright splash modern parents will enjoy. Although it’s highly functional, the appearance remains straightforward and dads should have no problem pushing this around the city.
From the moment you set eyes on the diminutive luxx, you can tell it’s going to be agile and compact. Even with the bigger wheels and larger basket, it’s ridiculously easy to push and you can open it up with a single hand, perfect for when you’re juggling a million things at once! Essentially a brand new spin on the Nuna PEPP, this buggy is streets ahead of the previous generation.
Features
As you would expect, the forward-facing luxx offers excellent manoeuvrability and a smooth ride for your little one. The noise levels and vibration can get a little too much at times, meaning you will need a buffer around the plastic wheels to enhance the experience. That being said, the great suspension, one-touch braking system and energy absorbing aluminium frame work well to combat the worst the pavements have to throw at you.
The standout feature is without doubt its practicality. When Nuna say it sets a new industry benchmark, they really mean it. The luxx has a remarkably clever ultra-compact system, which lets you fold it all the way down to a flat backpack size and makes storing it the easiest thing in the world – whether at home, in the car or out at restaurants.
Really easy to lift and coming with a height-adjustable handle, this pram seems ideal for smaller parents or couples who often take turns during excursions.
Comfort for your baby hasn’t been overlooked either, with a three-position full recline, adjustable calf supports for those sudden nap-times and a soft certified Oeko-Tex® fabric. The higher seat position – in line with the current trend – also lets your little one get a great view of the world. It also has a three or five point anti-loop harness with useful quick click release button, scuppering any escape plans and giving parents peace of mind.
It’s great to see more pushchairs doubling up as travel systems and the luxx doesn’t disappoint here. Once you’ve added adaptors, it will work with a variety of Group 0+ infant carriers, including the Nuna PIPA, Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix, Maxi-Cosi Citi SPS and the Bb Confort Pebble.
Other small touches we enjoyed were the extended canopy with flip eyeshade, front wheel swivel locks and large storage basket, which is perfect for shopping trips.
FQ Verdict
It may be small and lightweight, but the intelligent Nuna PEPP luxx can make parents’ lives a whole lot easier.
