Celebrations took off at Legoland Windsor Resort today to commemorate Prince George’s birthday as he was thrown his first birthday party.

Held in the gardens of the miniature LEGO recreation of Buckingham Palace, which includes bunting and balloons, guests enjoyed a minuscular party food spread with jelly and ice cream, as well as a 3cm tall LEGO birthday cake.

The event featured a number of guests and royal guests including the Prince himself (made from just 15 LEGO bricks), Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and both sets of grandparents, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Michael and Carole Middleton.

Divisional Director of the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Sue Kemp commented: “Guests absolutely love our Miniland Royal Family, so when planning how to celebrate Prince George’s first birthday, throwing him a Royal garden party seemed a great way to mark the occasion,”

“We have a lot of fun with our tiny LEGO Royals – we recently gave our Royal ladies a Royal Ascot makeoer with bespoke hats designed exclusively for us by the Queen’s Milliner and our announcement of Prince George’s birth last year was a real crowd pleaser. We hope people will be just as delighted with our special LEGOLAND birthday party.”

Miniland at the LEGOLAND resort is a popular attraction, having recreated many famous international landmarks including major sites of London, the Angel of the North and the Presidents of Mount Rushmore. Guests to the resort will have to chance to see their latest recreation all throughout the summer.
