The luxury car brand, Genesis, has unveiled an exclusive dog accessory, the Genesis X Dog concept, writes Tim Barnes-Clay.
This bespoke concept, designed to provide dogs with a lavish space to unwind during their electric car journeys, is a testament to the marque’s commitment to luxury and comfort.
The Genesis X Dog concept is not just about luxury, but also about safety. This premium module is equipped with bespoke features to cater to a dog’s needs before, during, and after travel. It includes a Genesis-branded heated dog cushion, built-in shower, wireless Bluetooth audio system, pull-out ramp, and push-to-open storage compartments with 230V plug sockets.
Genesis has also designed a personalised leather dog collar and safety harness to ensure your furry friend’s safety, providing peace of mind while on the move. The module is designed to comfortably accommodate canines of various sizes, from small to medium breeds.
The module has been crafted with great attention to detail, including quilted vegan leather sidewalls with matching trim to the interior of the Electrified GV70. It also features non-slip surfaces and a safety locking mechanism, which includes two straps on the side of the unit to prevent movement during transit. These features ensure your dog’s safety at all times.
It also boasts a six-litre pressurised water tank linked to the shower attachment, allowing pooches to be washed anywhere. The lightweight pull-out ramp is manufactured from aluminium and carbon fibre telescopic tubes to allow easy access to the boot while being highly resistant and adaptable to all terrains.
You can conveniently charge the module using the external charging port in the grille or by plugging it into a traditional domestic electrical socket within the module’s storage area. This socket connects to the rear V2L power supply in the boot, ensuring a seamless charging experience. Interior lighting is available in 100 colours on the base of the module surrounding the bed to create a sense of calm and lessen stress levels when travelling.
The Genesis X Dog concept is part of an immersive experience at select UK Genesis Studios. Genesis X Dog is on show at the Genesis Studio Battersea from 9 to 21 May 2024 and then transfers to the Genesis Studio Westfield for two weeks from 22 May to 5 June 2024.
