Fiat vs Mitsubishi: We put the pick-up rivals to the test.
They share the same high-tech common-rail turbodiesel engine and are built on the same production line. So what sets Mitsubishi’s L200 pick up and Fiat’s Fullback Jeep apart, other that the price tag? We took them to the road to find out.
Mitsubishi L200
It’s won ‘Pick-Up Of The Year’ in the Auto Express Awards for the third year running and for a big motor, the Mitsubishi L200 packs a punch.
Easy to drive with the help of motor reverse cameras, which we found essential on a vehicle of this length (five metres), the L200 is a versatile motor that’s great for families and anyone with bulky items to move from A to B.
The load bay looks big – and it is. With a foldable tailgate leaving a completely flat surface the L200 boasts the longest boot space on the market and it’s perfect for sliding things in and out – in our case building materials. There’s also plenty of space for kids’s bikes, camping equipment and all the paraphernalia that come with children.
