With Bradley Cooper sporting the man bun as a new dad, is this the style every dad should adopt?

Often considered the most hipster of hairstyles, the man bun has been frowned upon by many. But as a new dad, you don’t have time to care for your hair. And letting it grow unruly may just be the hip-ticket you need.

As an easy hairstyle to do, even the busiest of dads can look cool.

Man bun it up

It’s easy to get the style because all you need is hair length, an elastic and little time. Have no fear, you don’t need a mane, as little as 6 inches is enough. You might have to drop your barber for a while though.

If you want a “topknot” then grab all the hair on the top of your head and tie it into a single bun. Hence why you only need 6 to 7 inches of hair length. This lets you experiment with different short cuts as well if you’re too scared to take the dive to the full man bun.

The full bun uses all the hair on the head to make the bun. This means you’ll be taking all the hair on your head and trying it all into a single bun. You will need more length to your hair to take this style so it could be considered a bit more daring.

For those dads looking to have an epic man bun, this video from men’s hair expert Rogelio Samson will show you how to get the perfect length.

Have fun with the style and really make it your own. The man bun is your way of experimenting. Your barber might worry you’ve traded him in for someone else, but that’s all part of the fun.

So take the Bradley Cooper stance and tie that hair up.
