Children will love getting their hands dirty with these fun crafts for Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about couples. Let your children flex their creative skills for it with these craft ideas.
Valentine’s Day Cards
Everyone enjoys getting a card from that special someone on Valentine’s Day. Help your little one make cards for their friends or family to enjoy.
Handprint Flowers
You or your child can draw the stems and grass. Then all you need is a little hand for the flower. Paint your child’s hand red or pink and let them place it on top to make handprint flowers.
Abstract Art
If you’re really brave and not afraid of mess, this masterpiece is for you. All you’ll need is a giant white poster board along with red and pink paint. Roll your child’s sleeves up and watch them go! You can even join in the fun and when you’re done, you’ll have your very own piece of abstract art to hang in your home.
Mosaic Hearts
This project is all about fine motor skills. Start collecting paper in shades of red and pink. Your child can cut out cute hearts or pieces of any shape. After cutting out the shapes, help your little one glue them onto heart shaped paper. Your child can also cut out this larger heart to make a Valentine’s Day card of their own. By helping your son or daughter with the cutting and gluing, you are also spending quality time with them.
Coffee Filter Hearts
Many of us have coffee filters hanging around our kitchen somewhere. Put them to use this Valentine’s Day – they’re great canvases for water colour paints. Cut the coffee filter into heart shapes and have your child use their favourite markers to fill it in. Spray with a little water and watch the colours come to life.
Valentine’s Day Slime
Slime has certainly made a name for itself among the little ones. Why not make the slime fun and festive by adding in glitter and heart pieces.
