From Aladdin to Cinderella, here’s a guide to the best pantomimes this festive season.
Christmas just isn’t the same without being surrounded by giddy kids, bad jokes and a z-list celebrity in fancy dress. Here’s our guide some of the best pantomimes across the country this Christmas.
Jack and the Beanstalk (London)
London’s Lyric Hammersmith are putting on an up-to-date production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Written by Secret Theatre writer Joel Horwood, the Lyric promises it will be its biggest panto ever. It stars Vikki Stone as Fleshcreep, Cherrelle Skeete as the Fairy Godmother, Kayla Meikle as Daisy the Cow and Faith Omole as Jack.
18th November to 6th January at Lyric Hammersmith. Tickets from £15.
Aladdin (Bristol)
Bristol’s famous Hippodrome’s has picked Aladdin as their pants of choice this year. It’s starring Joe Pasquale as Wishee Washee and Marti Pellow as the evil sorcerer Abanazar. The classic pantomime has everything you could want from a panto including wish-granting genies, flying carpets and a love story.
9th December to 7th January at the Bristol Hippodrome. Tickets from £12.
Cinderella (Birmingham)
Birmingham Hippodrome has a star studded cast for their Cinderella this year, including Beverly Knight, Danny Mac and Suzanne Shaw. It’s produced by Olivier-nominated pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment and has all the ingredients for the perfect pantomime, from laugh-out-loud comedy to special effects and beautiful costumes. If you book after the 9th January, two children can go half price with every full paying adult.
19th December to 28th January at Birmingham Hippodrome. Tickets from £15.50.
Dick Whittington (Manchester)
Manchester’s going big on Panto this year with huge names John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood) and The Krankies leading the cast in their fantastic production of Dick Whittington. There are a number of good rates available too, for instance if you book two or more tickets you can receive £5 off your order on selected days.
9th December to 7th January at Manchester Opera House. Tickets from £12.
Snow White (Cardiff)
Cardiff’s panto this year has a huge cast, with Samantha Womack, Gareth Thomas, Mike Doyle, Chico and Tam Ryan all included. Throw in a magical mirror, seven friendly dwarfs and a beautiful princess, plus a handsome prince and plenty of audience participation, then you have a glittering festive treat for all ages
