While the Classic has you pining for iconic cars from the 60s, the Black serves as an ode to high-end modern supercars, with a trendy matt finish, sleek fabrics and bursts of striking orange. The ‘true’ matt frame finish is also a first for the pushchair industry, and as the Design Team explain, integral to the product’s identity: “We have strived to give everything that unique finish. Even the basket is in the matt fabric and sewn inside out compared to main range, making it look seamless. Driven by automotive, the orange compliments and lifts everything. Just like the coloured brake callipers on a sports car, we have coloured the springs on the front suspension. The big challenge with selecting black was how we could deliver it in an innovative way, hence the huge attention-to-detail not just on colour but material, finish and tactility.” When it comes to the powerful colour scheme, iCandy say being ‘in the know’ was crucial. “Our in-house Design Team do a lot of work researching colour globally so we are the ones setting the trends in the industry, not following them. The key was staying true to the detailed mood boards and not being tempted to depart from them…it’s about being brave, sticking to your original intention and never settling for a compromise.” One thing is for certain, the Black’s sporty yet graceful look should have dads across the UK licking their lips in anticipation. Function  Before we lose ourselves in the style, it’s important to remember that at its core, this is supposed to be a functional pushchair system designed to fit around you and your baby. The Black comes with a range of seating positions, including parent and world-facing, plus reclined or upright. As with their other strollers, iCandy’s one- hand-fold technology also means you easily carry it or pack it away. Other useful features include an extra-large shopping basket which holds up to 5kg, corrosion- resistant aluminium chassis and swivel or fixed lockable wheels at the front. The carrycot can be used from birth and the seat unit from 6 months.
